Approximately 75-80% of supermarket products contain a precautionary statement such as ‘May Contain’. Currently, these statements are voluntary, and therefore some manufacturers may choose not to include them. Manufacturers may add these precautionary statements to food labels of products produced on shared equipment or where there is the risk of cross-contamination in the handling or storage of ingredients. The wording of this statement makes it very difficult to determine risk level, and a product that does not include the statement may be no safer than a product that does. The risk of significant allergic reaction through contamination is extremely low. Many families choose to ignore ‘may contain’ statements as the only safe alternative is to exclude all commercial food products from the diet. Parents with children that have severe allergies should have been informed by their treating paediatric immunologist or allergist whether their child is fine to include products that have a ‘May Contain’ statement.

Our menu ensures each meal day provides more than 50% of a child’s daily fibre requirements (NRV’s) and more than half of their daily serves of fruit and vegetables.

Meals and menus are developed in accordance with nutritional guidelines such as that of the Dietitians Association of Australia and the Eat for Health document released by the federal Government

Our unique technology automatically analyses over 100 allergen ingredients against individual dietary needs.

The algorithms do complex analysis: generating meal plans that maximise health benefits and taste value while automatically excluding allergens and restricted foods.

It generates tailored menu options with safe (and scrummy) alternatives in seconds.

The combination of complex allergens and corresponding dietary needs in our centres grows each day.

We have recently completed a major upgrade to our Meals Logic Database (MLD). Our bespoke ingredient elimination algorithm runs 24/7, every 15 minutes, verifying allergen issues with any child entered into our system. As part of our inclusive approach, we also ensure our special diet meals are as close to the main meal as possible so children with special dietary needs don’t feel left out.

Each meal is delivered in an individually sealed package with the child’s name and room, the day and the allergens listed on the label to reduce any chance of cross-contamination and maximise safety.

All serving sizes are age appropriate and are in accordance with the ‘Eat for Health’ required food serving sizes for Australian children.

We’re also committed to continuous nutritional analysis and modifying serving sizes for different age groups as required.
